National Winners - Spirited Art Competition

In Religious Education last year Year 8 students were looking at Philosophy and how this can be expressed through art. Every student had to design a piece of art work looking at the topic ‘Where is God?’. In this theme, students were invited to think about whether God exists. Many students had their own ideas on how to answer this with varying views from atheism, theism and agnosticism. The RE department was overwhelmed with the many outstanding pieces of art and impressive philosophical answers.
8 pieces of work were picked from the whole of Y8 to be entered into the ‘Spirited Arts’ competition, run nationally by NATRE (The National Association for Teachers of Religious Education). This week we found out the results of this competition and we have been awarded a National prize for all the entries. NATRE stated ‘The entire set of entries from Waldegrave School were winning quality, so we are delighted to award a group prize!’
