Careers Programme

In 2017 we were accredited with the Quality in Careers Award: 'Investors In Careers' which is valid for three years.  This highlights our commitment to careers education and employability. We have built up a number of lasting relationships and partnerships with local and regional employers who visit the school regularly.  Past students of Waldegrave play an active part in supporting our careers programme and if you want to find out more about our alumni please click here.

Annual events include: Next Steps Careers Fair, Parents information Evenings on GCSE and Post 16 choices, work experience for Y10 and Y12, HE and Apprentichips week and a Y7 Careers Day.

The Careers team in school are the Careers Advisers Debbie Walker and Bernie Corrighan based in Room 59. You can book an individual careers meeting through your tutors, Head of Year or signing up outside Room 59. Mrs Hopping is the Careers and Employability Lead who is also responsible for arranging work experience and enterprise activities.

The Waldegrave Careers programme covers a wide range of activities that take place in tutor time, out of school hours, assemblies, PDC and through subject lessons.

Students can access advice and guidance at any time through the year by booking a one to one appointment or using the resources on the school VLE, FROG.
