Waldegrave GCSE Results 2019

Waldegrave School are thrilled with the achievements of their Y11 students. Despite the more challenging demands of the new GCSE’s students have again come up trumps at all ability levels. 91% of all results are at grade 4 and above, 52% at grade 7 and above. 88% of students achieved grades 4 and above in both English and maths, a requirement for level 3 courses. RS is a stand-out subject as 198 students sat the exam and 51 achieved grade 9, the highest grade possible.

There are some fantastic results at an individual level and we are especially thrilled for those students who have achieved well in spite of facing adversity during the past year(s). There are some outstanding individuals : 18 have achieved at least 9 passes at grades 8 and 9; Hannah Kent achieved 10 grade 9s. Sasha Scott will have the best birthday present today as she opens her envelope to see 9 grade 9s. China Lee, Lucy Katesmark and Georgina Hemms will also be thrilled, securing 22 grade 9s between them.

New Headteacher Elizabeth Tongue quotes “We have a very supportive community of students, staff and parents and it is gratifying to see that the hard work and determination has really paid off”.
