Careers and Employability at Waldegrave
In July 2017 Waldegrave was accredited with the Quality in Careers Standard, Investor in Careers Award for another 3 years. We have a Careers Programme which is guided by our Careers Policy (which can be found in the Policy section of the School website) and aims to follow the government recommended Gatsby benchmarks. For more information on this award and the Gatsby benchmarks see the links below.
The Careers Lead in school is Mrs Page. Students can also access the school careers adviser in room 59. Mrs Hopping is the Careers and Employability Lead. For any careers related queries or to book an appointment with the careers adviser please email: email@example.com
All year groups will have an employer encounter once a year to understand from employers about their workplace and the skills required. This could be visiting speakers, careers fairs, networking events, trips to workplaces or mentoring.
Experiences of workplaces
Work experience at Waldegrave is a key part of the careers programme. This takes place in year 10 and year 12 and is arranged by Kingston & Richmond Education Business Partnership (KREBP). Work experience contributes to the development of key skills, encourages maturity and self-reliance and supports pupils learning into adult life.
