Admissions and Enrolment September 2017

Updates on Enrolment

4.10pm we have now closed enrolment at Waldegrave for entry to year 12 for 2017.  Due to the demand for places this year we will not be holding a wait list.

Teddington School are open tomorrow, Friday 24 August at 9.15 - 10.15 for those interested in enrolling there.

Enrolment Day Information

Enrolment Packs are now ready for collection from the Main Reception between 8-4pm until Friday 21 July when the school closes for the Summer holidays. These will contain important information and documents which will need to be returned on Enrolment Day on Thursday 24 August.  You will also be sent a time to enrol according to the Oversubscription Criteria. Please do not arrive early as we will not be able to see you until your alloted time.

We do not assume that all of the students who have applied will wish to come here as we are aware that the process allows for students to make multiple applications.  We do however anticipate that we will be full and in the position where we will need to turn away students on enrolment day.

All students who accepted our Conditional Offer by the deadline will be sent an enrolment pack by the end of the Summer term.  This will include:

  • the time at which the student should attend their enrolment interview, according to the over-subscription criteria;
  • important documents that will need to be returned on 24 August. Please note we will not start your enrolment process unless ALL documents and forms of ID are completed and signed;
  • Blocking Form

Enrolment Day - Thursday 24 August 2017

We will admit students who have achieved the entry requirements for the courses.

We have had over 600 applications this year compared to 531 last year.  In accordance with our over-subscription criteria we will be admitting students in the following order:

Wave 1

Waldegrave students: we anticipate that we will have places for all Waldegrave Students who have applied but we cannot guarantee this.

Wave 2

Boys: we anticipate that we will have places for 40 boys but we cannot guarantee this.

Wave 3

External girls and remaining boys: we anticipate that we may have places for a small number of external girls but we cannot guarantee this.  We may have space for more external girls and boys dependent on numbers admitted in waves 1& 2

Exceptions for students with EHCP and who are Looked After Children can be seen in the Oversubscription Criteria.

In our first year we admitted students from all waves and every student who applied and met the criteria was admitted.  Last year we admitted all students from waves 1 & 2 and some students from wave 3.  We are not able to educate more than 140 students because beyond this we do not have the capacity to effectively provide for them.  We advise all students to have applied for at least three colleges or schools and make an application to their own school who will in most cases be able to guarantee a place if the entry criteria are met.

On Thursday 24 August we will keep parents and students informed of the situation via the website and Twitter.  Please be aware that we may be in the positon that we turn students away on enrolment day because we have reached our admission number.
