What are they?
Origninally founded in Scotland, a TeachMeet is an organised but informal meeting in the style of an ‘unconference’ for teachers to share great practice, practical innovations and personal insights in teaching. The RTSA TeachMeets are organised with the local educational climate in mind.
Participants volunteer to demonstrate great practice they've delivered recently or discuss a product that enhances classroom practice. The RTSA TeachMeet events are open to all Teachers and Teaching Assistants, and do not charge an entry fee.
Where can I see one?
Our next Teachmeet will be held at St Richard Reynolds Catholic College on Thursday 11 October 2017 from 5-6pm. The focus is on learning something new, and being inspired by the practice of our colleagues. Anyone can share interesting, useful or innovative ideas in 3 or 5 minute presentations. Please email email@example.com to book your place.
Previous TeachMeets include our event hosted by Christ's School on 23 March; and Orleans Park School, Twickenham on Wednesday 2 November 2016. They were well attended events, building on our Inaugraral event in 2015 at Teddington School.
As part of Waldegrave’s commitment to Continual Professional Development and Learning, we host weekly Teachmeets at school each Wednesday. These sessions are only open to Waldegrave staff and invited guests. The content varies each week to support the School Improvement Plan.
