Academy Status

Waldegrave School became an Academy in August 2012.  After a thorough consideration of the arguments, Governors decided conversion would be in the best interests of the school on the basis that much would stay the same.  The extra resources gained as a result of converting to Academy status have been used to enhance the experiences of the students in the school, for example: extra counselling; smaller class sizes in core subjects; extra specialist teachers.

In January 2014 Waldegrave became a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) with responsibility for Nelson Primary School.  To read more about the responsibilities of The Waldegrave Trust please click here.

In April 2016 Waldegrave School started to work with Teddington School to support Twickenham Academy and Hampton High through the formation of a new trust, Richmond West Schools Trust.
