Home School Agreement

What do we expect?

Waldegrave School has one school rule: We show mutual respect and understanding for everyone, through courteous and considerate behaviour at all times.

This means:

To help achieve this rule, all members of the school community should work towards creating a calm and purposeful learning environment:

  • being polite at all times
  • walking sensibly around school
  • going straight to lessons
  • keeping to the left, holding open doors for others
  • keeping the building clean and tidy
  • recycling and not wasting resources
  • respecting each others' property
  • ensuring mobile 'phones, MP3 players, iPods and other valuables are kept in lockers
  • eating only in designates areas

 To achieve success students should:

  • attend school at all times
  • arrive at lessons punctually, ready to learn and with the correct equipment
  • engage in the lesson,
  • take responsibility for their own learning,
  • ask if they do not understand
  • respect the rights of other students to learn and teachers to teach
  • wear their uniform correctly and with pride

To assist their daughters' success, parents / carers should:

  • ensure students attend school on time, wearing uniform and with the correct equipment
  • ensure students complete all coursework and homework
  • show an interest in the student's studies and attend meetings to discuss their progress and future careers

To enable students achievement, teachers should ensure:

  • lessons are prepared and work marked in accordance with school policy
  • students are treated equally and set work appropriate to their ability
  • achievements are rewarded and sanctions imposed fairly and in line with school policy
